Shark Rocket TruePet Review – The Rocket Ship Of Vacuum Cleaners

If there is a model in the vacuum cleaning industry which defines the word “creativity” it is the TruePet, made by Shark. At first it appears to be a regular upright model, but then, when you see the top part detach the only thing your mind will be telling you is that you need this in your house. Imagine cleaning your floor, and you suddenly bump into stairs, a couch, any type of ceiling dust – you just unsnap the top part of the TruePet and get it cleaned. To add to all that, the price is lower than most of its competitors, the design is better than the one on these same competitors, and it is super light compared to them. Let’s take a look some of its other features that define this model as the top-dog in its price bracket.

Features That Make It Stand Out

Since this is a bagless vacuum cleaner it will have its pros and cons. We’ve covered them in great detail in our Buyer’s Guide. The main thing is that it has a fairly big dust container, which won’t have to be changed every few minutes, like the one on the Bissell Pet Hair Eraser.

Weighing at just under 9 pounds, this upright model makes cleaning open areas a breeze. Trust us, your hands and back will thank you for this purchase. You can even lift it up and clean the ceiling without detaching the handheld module. Speaking of detaching, you actually get two vacuum cleaners in one here. Imagine you are cleaning your carpet and you want to go to the couch next. With a simple unclipping you can have a handheld, small (but powerful) vacuum cleaner for the more narrow spaces.

Inside your package you will be getting a multi-tool specifically designed for pet hair. It will capture strongly embedded hair on all sorts of surfaces. Basically, you will be lacking a few other attachments, but for the price of the “Rocket” you can afford buying them separately.

At the bottom of the vacuum, there are LED lights for you to see all sorts of hidden debris around your home. What we didn’t expect was to get those same lights on the detachable handheld part, but Shark pleasantly surprised us.

Lastly, the swivel steering here is amazing. Most expensive upright vacuum cleaners don’t have that option at all, while here you get it and it makes everything far easier. The overall control you will have over the maneuverability will be on par with some of canister vacuum models.
